LIVER THREE —> TAICHONG (TIE-CHONG)

Liver Channel:

Perhaps our most important channel in our body, the Liver Channel is in charge of the smooth flow of Qi (chee), our energy, throughout our entire body. It begins on the inside of the big toe, travels up our inner leg, wraps around our genitals, and ends in our 6th rib space.

Location: On the top of the foot, in the hollow above the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones.


ACTIONS:

  1. Spreads Liver Qi (chee)

  2. Subdues excess Liver Yang (energy)

  3. Nourishes Liver Blood and Yin

  4. Clears the head and eyes

  5. Regulates menstruation


INDICATIONS:

—> Headache, dizziness, numbness, epilepsy

—> Distention and pain in the ribs

—> Constant hiccups and sighing

—> Pain in the genitals especially the testicles

—> Insomnia

—> Blurry vision and swelling eyes

—> Cracked and swollen lips with dry throat

—> Skipped periods or no periods

—> Difficult or painful urination

—> Jaundice with constipation, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and blood in the stools

—> Nocturnal emissions

—> Lumbar pain radiating to the lower abdomen, knee pain, weak legs, and cold hands and feet

METHOD:

Find the point on your body and massage in a clockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Take a big deep breath. Then massage in a counterclockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Repeat these steps for 5-10 minutes, or until you begin to feel better.
