LUNG ONE —> ZHONGFU (JONG-FOO)

Lung Channel:

This channel runs from the lateral aspect of our chest, down our lateral arm, all the way down to our thumbs.

Location: On the lateral aspect of the chest in the first intercostal space, just below the collar bone, near the shoulder.

ACTIONS:

  1. Descends Lung Qi (chee) to stop coughing and wheezing

  2. Transforms phlegm, clears heat, and regulates water passages (think of sinus congestion here)

  3. Descends Stomach Qi

INDICATIONS:

—> If you find yourself feeling sick, acupressuring this point will help with cough where you’re producing phlegm.

—> Because our Lungs open to our nose, this point will help with congestion or throat swelling

—> This point can also help to calm a nauseous Stomach since this channel originates in our center.

METHOD:

Find the point on your body and massage in a clockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Take a big deep breath. Then massage in a counterclockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Repeat these steps for 5-10 minutes, or until you begin to feel better.
