PERICARDIUM SIX —> NEIGUAN (NAY-GWAN)

Pericardium Channel:

Our pericardium is an envelope of skin that protects the Heart. It begins just above our nipples and travels down the inside of our arms all the way to the tip of our middle fingers.

Location: On the inner aspect of the arm, 2 fingerbreadths from the center of the wrist between the tendons of palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis. (*Touching the thumb and ring finger together will bring the tendons to the surface of the skin*)


ACTIONS:

  1. Unbinds the chest and regulates the Qi (chee)

  2. Regulates the Heart and calms the Spirit

  3. Harmonizes the Stomach and alleviates nausea and vomiting

  4. Clears Heat

  5. Opens an extraordinary channel called the Yin Linking Vessel


INDICATIONS:

—> Heart pain, stuffy chest, palpitations, arrhythmia, and cough

—> Insomnia with poor memory, fear, sadness

—> Stroke or inability to sleep

—> Nausea or vomiting with abdominal distention, diarrhea, or blood in the stools

—> Morning sickness during pregnancy

—> Fever, headache, stiff neck, red eyes and face, and urinary dysfunction

—> Pain in the arms and armpits with stiff neck and head

METHOD:

Find the point on your body and massage in a clockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Take a big deep breath. Then massage in a counterclockwise direction for 10-15 seconds. Repeat these steps for 5-10 minutes, or until you begin to feel better.
